Casa Alvarado was born from a moment of clarity—one that changed everything.

When Heidi Lawson first walked through the doors of the villa now known as Casa Alvarado, perched high above the Sea of Cortez in Punta Pescadero, Baja California Sur, something stirred. It wasn’t just the view or the land. It was a deep, immediate sense of belonging.

"The second I stepped inside, I knew this place was calling me to create something more," Heidi says. "It wasn’t just a beachfront villa—it was a space meant to inspire and connect."

With encouragement from her twin sons, Jessy and Jake, Heidi did what few would dare—she sold nearly everything she owned to bring this vision to life. What began as a personal escape soon became something greater: a private luxury beachfront villa designed as a sanctuary for rest, reconnection, and creativity.

Though an experienced real estate professional in Reno, Nevada, the world of vacation rentals was new to Heidi. But with support from her sons and a small circle of trusted partners, she transformed Casa Alvarado into what it is today—a thoughtfully curated, guest-first destination. The villa now hosts artist residencies, wellness retreats, intimate weddings, family reunions, and group getaways on the East Cape of Baja.

"I wanted to create a place where people could slow down and find themselves again—whether through art, through nature, or through connection," Heidi says.

As an artist, Heidi infused the villa with soul. A hand-painted mural by the pool depicts a baby sea turtle she once helped reach the ocean on the beach below. Throughout the property, her original paintings reflect the colors and energy of the Sea of Cortez. Over time, guests have been inspired to create their own works of art here—many of which now live within the villa, forming a growing creative legacy.

"That’s one of my favorite things—when guests leave a piece of themselves behind," Heidi says. "It reminds me that this space is always evolving with the people who pass through it."

To this day, Heidi remains deeply involved in shaping each guest experience. From a detailed local guide she personally curated, to partnerships with trusted local chefs, wellness practitioners, and artisans, her vision is present in every touchpoint of a stay.

"Casa Alvarado isn’t just a home," she says. "It’s a living expression of my story—and an invitation for others to write theirs here too."
